Aging Gracefully In-Home Care for Seniors came into existence from a deep heartfelt love for senior citizens. Shannon Fothergill, current administrator of Aging Gracefully, began working with seniors in 1998 when she joined her sister as part owner of Bridge to Independence In-Home Care for Seniors. Shannon had graduated two years earlier with a Bachelor of Social Work and had worked at Senior Citizens of Greater Dallas (now The Senior Source) and at Golden Acres Dallas Home for the Jewish aged.
 
Ms. Fothergill continued working with the geriatric community as a Medical Social Worker at Doctors Hospital in Dallas for three years. Shannon had a passion that had been embedded in her since she had been brought up around grandparents both maternal and paternal and even had the privilege of knowing her great-grandparents.

As a child, Shannon and her sister had spent summers passing out flyers in the local area offering to provide housekeeping, laundry service, and errand running to seniors in need.

This childhood business plan bloomed into what is now Aging Gracefully, which provides housekeeping, laundry, errand running.  Additionally, medications are monitored, and companionship is offered, so that seniors have a choice of staying at home versus having to go to a nursing home where little privacy or companionship is available.

Since the first day we have worked very diligently to provide a loving environment. Now in 2010 Aging Gracefully is a company still owned and operated by Ms. Fothergill. In-home care is an individualized service and quality care must me monitored by health care professionals, not franchised.
 
Each person who needs care--whether it be care for a short time after exiting the hospital, long term 24 hour daily assistance or simply care 4 hours a day several times per week--Aging Gracefully strives to keep the care personalized and sincere.

We run our day-to-day operations with a sense of family; our staff views each client like a member of her family. This company is run on principles--not a business model.

Aging gracefully has been able to maintain high quality staff by paying employees well maintaining a close relationship with our employees and observing first hand that they are meeting our goals.
